We welcome your micropoems! We look for work that baits, catches, grips, hooks, lures or otherwise stirs us. Haiku, senryu, gendai, haibun, haiga, tanka, renku, and related forms; vispo; strange and uncategorizable things.

Send a maximum of three poems in a single Word document attached to an email to halibuthaiku<at>gmail<dot>com. Include your family name and title or number of poems in the subject line of your email. We occasionally consider longer works (max. three pages) for publication serially or in part.

We prefer work that is previously unpublished. If the work has appeared elsewhere, please specify publication details. The author is responsible for securing permissions. We ask for first publication rights on accepted work.

Submissions may be made at any time. We read at least three times a year (late spring, late summer, early winter) and more often when possible. While we aim to respond within 6-10 weeks, response times will vary. Please wait to hear from us on the status of a current submission before sending more work.

HALIBUT is a labour of love; at the moment, we can only pay in grateful thanks.
